The aim of the KIDOHE (AI-supported documentation for midwives) project, funded by the European Regional Development Fund in Bremen (ERDF), is to develop an innovative, intelligent, decision-supporting system to improve the stress and recourse situation of midwives. In collaboration with the University of Bremen, atacama blooms GmbH & Co. KG is developing such a system, which represents both scientifically based specialist knowledge and the experience of midwives in networks and supports midwives in all areas of activity, from prenatal care to obstetrics and aftercare (postpartum).
The system is intended to provide specific support to midwives in their daily work and in their complex decisions. It must represent specialist knowledge in an appropriate manner and make it accessible. The knowledge base on the relevant parameters relating to birth represents a close connection between medicine, nursing science and psychological aspects. All of these elements can, in turn, be relevant to documentation requirements and other legal areas, or influence the decisions of the actors, either individually or in certain contexts. Research and practice are also rapidly developing the knowledge base, so that the basis must be supplemented with new knowledge or partially replaced.
The system maps physiological, psychological and pathologically critical conditions and, through intelligent action and documentation suggestions, makes a decisive contribution to minimizing pregnancy and birth risks, thereby relieving the burden on midwives.
The KIDOHE project is funded by the EU - European Regional Development Fund.
